Early Passion

I’m LaDonna Franklin, Founder and CEO of Essentials 4U. My passion for hair care began at a very young age. As a child, I braided hair for kids in my neighborhood to earn skating money. I didn’t realize then that I was planting the seeds of creativity that would stay with me throughout life.

A Personal Experience

As I grew older, being serviced by a stylist became more than just getting my hair done; it was always personal. I chose stylists based on their energy, their confidence in working with textured hair, and their ability to style me in ways that made me feel authentic and beautiful.

My Natural Hair Journey

Over 15 years ago, I began my natural hair journey, exploring products that would work well for my scalp and texture. In 2021, I transitioned into Locs, embracing the freedom, strength, and beauty of this style. Along the way, my father noticed my creativity and encouraged me to become a cosmetologist. Instead, I chose a different path; to create a product that is very near and dear to my heart.

The Birth of Essentials 4U

Even after years of searching, I couldn’t find an oil that was truly natural, nourishing, and effective for my scalp and Loc care. That’s when I decided to create my own. What started as a personal solution has now grown into Essentials 4U: a brand born out of passion, love for natural care, and the desire to help others find the same confidence and wellness in their own journey.
